Dr. Rube R. Hundley

Dr. Hundley was born in Enterprise Alabama and received his undergraduate degree from University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa Alabama in 1955.  He received his medical degree from Medical College of Alabama in Birmingham Alabama in 1959.  He completed his internal medicine residency (1960-1961) at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham Alabama and went into family practice for two years.  He then went back to school and completed a second residency in urology (1963-1966) also at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham Alabama.

He served in the Alabama Air National Guard (1959-1965) and had 15 months of active duty in the United States Air Force.  He is a veteran Flying Medical Officer (FMO) of the "Bay of Pigs" invasion of Cuba.

Dr. Hundley established Urological Associates of Dothan, PA in September 1966.

Dr. Hundley is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.)

Dr. Hundley is past president of the Alabama Urological Society and the Houston County Medical Society. He has also served as past president of the Medical Staff and the Chief Surgery Department at both Flowers Hospital and Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

He is an Honorary Professor at Kirov Medical Academy located in Kirov Russia and has been training surgeons there for two weeks each summer for the last fourteen years.

Dr. Hundley is affiliated with both Southeast Alabama Medical Center and Flowers Hospital in Dothan Alabama.

His personal interest are hunting, fishing, working on his farm and running his bulldozer.

Dr. Hundley is especially proud of his children and grandchildren.  His youngest sons (twins) are planning to enter medical school in 2009.
